Professor Babulak will arrive in Fairfield in April 2014.
Prof. Babulak’s research interests are in Future Networks and Quality of Service (QoS) Provision, Cyberspace Security, Cyberspace Security Policies, Computer Emergency Response Teams, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery, Next Generation of Information Communications Technologies (ICT) and e-Services (e-Health, e-Learning, e-Transport, e-Manufacturing, e-Commerce and e-Government), Ubiquitous and Human Centric Computing, Automation and Applied Mathematics.Prof. Babulak was awarded higher postdoctoral degree DOCENT - Doctor of Science (DSc) in 2008 in the Czech Republic. While in UK he was awarded PhD in 2003, MSc in 1991 and High National Certificate (HNC) in 1990. He completed his Electrical Engineering degree (Dipl.-Ing.) in 1982 in Slovakia. Prof. Babulak academic and engineering work was recognized internationally by the Engineering Council in UK, the European Federation of Engineers and credited by the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers and APEG in British Columbia in Canada.
Prof. Babulak worked as a Director of Japan Pacific ICT Centre, Head of School and Full Professor of Computing Science & Information Systems at the University of the South Pacific in Suva, Fiji. He served as Director of Pacific Computer Emergency Response Team (PacCERT) Interim Board. As a First Director of Japan Pacific ICT Centre he was responsible for $22 million US dollars ICT Project sponsored by the Japanese Government and JICA.
Prof. Babulak was Guest Professor at the Graz University of Technology (Austria), held five Visiting Professorships, including, Visiting Professorship at the Fairleigh Dickinson University in Vancouver (Canada), the University of Economics in Prague (Czech Republic), the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (Spain), the University of Pardubice (Czech Republic), the University of Quebec in Rimouski (Canada).
Prof. Babulak is Fellow of British Computer Society, Fellow of Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce in UK, Nominated Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, Nominated Distinguished Member of the ACM, Chair of the IEEE Vancouver Ethics, Professional and Conference Committee, Mentor and Senior Member of IEEE and ACM, member of American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE), American Mathematical Association (AMA) and Mathematical Society of America (MSA).
Prof. Babulak serves as the Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editor, Co-Editor, Guest Editor and speaks 14 languages. His biography was cited in the Cambridge Blue Book, Cambridge Index of Biographies and number of issues of Who’s Who.
